1. Design and Safety:

The Model X is designed in such a manner that safety was kept as the main priority. The presence of floor-mounted battery keeps the gravitational force to the minimum that reduces the likelihood of a rollover. The battery structure is such that it strengthens the vehicle against any side impact intrusions. Since there is no gasoline engine, the big front trunk functions as a huge impact-absorbing feature.

The Model X is a smart car in the sense that it continuously scans the nearby roadway through radar, sonar systems, and the camera. This enables the driver to get real-time feedback to avoid collisions. If the speed is quite high, the vehicle is capable enough to apply brakes automatically at the time of an emergency.

The outside pollution, bacteria, and pollen are constantly filtered through a medical grade HEPA filter prior to the air circulating inside the cabin. There are three modes for adjusting the filter level that include a ‘bio-weapon defense’, ‘re-circulate inside air’ and ‘circulate the outside air’ respectively. Thus, a positive and clean pressure is created that protects the occupants inside.

2. Falcon Wings:

The Falcon Wing doors are special and unheard of before. They provide easy access to the second and third-row seats even if the car is parked in a tight space. Having only a foot of clearance on each side, the Falcon Wing doors articulate up smoothly. This enables the passengers to enter the cabin from the front and the rear side. Interestingly, the overhead and side opening is so big that even the parents can buckle the children inside without having to strain or duck or even bumping the kid’s head on the roof.

3. Seating Capacity:

The Model X has a seating capacity of seven people in the three rows. Each seat is equally good, but those present in the second row are remarkable. Each seat in the second row is mounted on the single post and reclines independently that helps to maximize the legroom, comfort, and the under seat storage. Moreover, the third row can be easily accessed as well.

When not in usage the third-row seats can be folded flat. While the second-row seats can be made to lean forward that allows for more cargo area.

4. Engine:

Two versions of Model X will be available for the consumers. One is the P90D Signature, and the other is sportier P90D Founder. The engine specifications include a 259-hp electric motor that energizes the front wheels and the 503-hp rear-mounted motor that stimulates the rear wheels to account for the all-wheel drive transmission.

The P90D Signature version has a top speed of 155 miles per hour and a 250-mile range. In just 3.2 seconds, it can accelerate to 60 miles per hour respectively.

5. Fuel Economy:

The Tesla Model X will prove to be fuel-efficient as it is expected to perform well within the city and on the highway. The fuel consumption in the city is 88 miles per gallon while on the highway it is at 90 miles per gallon.

Why do we use the internal combustion engine in cars? Why not use another type? The simplest answer is that the internal combustion engine is a proven technology that has been used for decades. While there are more efficient types of engines being developed, that run on green energy, none of them are currently a serious threat to replacing the internal combustion engine. Important Reminder Before You Get Started

Before you start with the job, you need to consider one thing first. There are car owners that would start their engine and drive around their place before changing the oil. They do this because hot oil would drain faster. However, you need to be extra cautious because working with boiling hot oil can cause severe injuries such as hands and face burns! Easy Steps on Changing Your Car’s Oil

First, you need to park your car on a plain flat surface. If you have enough room to be able to slide underneath the car, then do it. If not, jack up your car with the jack stands.

If you think the vehicle is secure and supported properly, you can crawl underneath it and start looking for your car’s drain plug. It is usually situated along the front area of a car. Use a drop cloth or a newspaper to absorb any spills around the area.

Also, place a pan or a bowl under the plug. Loosen the plug using the socket wrench. Turn it counter-clockwise, and then twist the plug so you can remove it with your hand. Drain half of the oil completely. After which, replace the drain plug using your socket wrench.

If you are done with all of these, then look for the oil filter. Place the oil pan or bowl underneath it. Around your oil filter, slip the filter wrench and make sure that it is properly secured. Tug it counter-clockwise. As soon as the oil filter loosens, take it out using your hand.

Make sure you rub new oil around your rubber gasket before installing a new filter. This will prevent for problems to occur in the future. Screw your new filter in the filter pipe. Tighten it.

After that is done, crawl out of your car, open the hood, and take out the cap of the filter oil. Fill it with the recommended amount of oil and replace the oil filter cap.

Understanding the Differences between Engines in Cars

Automotive engineering has come a long way since cars were first invented. Today, most cars feature an engine that has either 4, 5, 6, or 8 cylinders. However, not everyone knows what difference any of that makes. Still, understanding the differences between modern engines is of paramount importance, especially if you plan on buying a new car anytime soon.
Of course, there are some exceptions to this basic cylindrical rule, but for the most part, the cars on the roads today will be just as described. One specific “rule breaker” of an engine is the one featured in the Dodge Viper which has 10 cylinders. Other high-end automobiles can have as many as 12 cylinders, but let’s first discuss what that means.
The Duty of the Engine Cylinder
Inside every car is a number of cylinders which are partially responsible for giving the car its power. All combustion occurs in the engine cylinder. What happens is simple: each cylinder contains a piston which moves up and down inside of it. Some move side-to-side, but for now, let’s stick with the basics. The piston inside the cylinder is connected to the crankshaft, which is what delivers the energy once it is created with combustion. This energy travels to the transmission and ultimately makes the car move. While the process may seem a bit complicated, it truly is not.
Cylinders, Modern Cars, and Engine Types
So how does all this come together to form the different types of engines that we see on the streets today? For starters, you must understand that the number of cylinders a car has the most horsepower it can crank out. Torque and power are directly related to the cylinder count of a car, and engines with more cylinders are typically bigger and chug a lot more fuel.
You might notice that cars are often referred to as “V” or “In-Line” when the cylinders are being described. This simply means that the cylinders are in either a V-shape or they are in a straight line. In-line engines typically feature 4, 5, or 6 cylinders. The V-line cylinder, which can feature 6, 8, 10, or 12, was actually invented to fit more cylinders, thus making it able to produce more torque.
Some of the more modern models such as Porche and Subaru use neither V-line nor the inline cylinder configuration. Instead, both of those models use “flat” or “boxer” engines. These unique engines are powerful despite their wonky appearance, and feature cylinders which lay flat on either side of the crankshaft. Either way, you will notice that in-line engines are narrower when mounted, comparatively speaking about the V-line models, of course.
Keep in mind when exploring the different types of car engines out there that V-line engines make for better handling while in-line engines do not. This is a design benefit, due to the fact that V-line engines have a much more stable center of gravity. Now, when you look at a car and see the symbols such as I-4, I-6, V-8, and V-12 you will finally have an idea of what it means.
